#SheMakesChange
A one-day power session using technology to increase women’s safety and wellbeing — part of Victoria Against Violence and the 16 Days of Activism.
With the Department of Health and Human Services, Crowdspot and XYX Lab, Girl Geek Academy led a group of hand-selected women to shape a technical, design and marketing brief in a single day.

Why a hack day?
Every community has a role to play in preventing family violence. Global evidence shows that gender inequality is a key driver of family violence and other violence against women — and that gender equality increases women’s safety and wellbeing.
We created #SheMakesChange so Victoria’s women in STEM could put their skills to work during the 16 Days of Activism, from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November) to Human Rights Day (10 December).
