We’ve got two new workshops happening at ACMI these school holidays – but they aren’t just for kids! We have introduced these short workshops to give you a taste of technology you might be keen to explore but not quite sure where to start or if it’s for you.  They’re relaxed, fun, and a great way to meet other girls and women who share your interests!  Because we all love having a girl gang to play with

Introduction to #MissMakesCode – Women and Girls Holiday Program

22 September – 9am to 10am, Cinema 1 at ACMI (Federation Square)

A fabulous experience full of fun, developing friendships and learning to code!  Our one hour introductory workshop is available during the September school holidays.

This unique all-girls workshop is a terrific way to introduce your child to coding, game making and build their technology confidence. And it’s a fabulous opportunity for parents/guardians to experience coding alongside their girls to encourage inspiring tech role models within the home.

We will also provide you with the access and advice about the resources you need to continue coding at home!

Introduction to Games Livestreaming – for all ages

22 September – 10:30am to 12pm, Cinema 1 at ACMI (Federation Square)

Livestreaming on sites like Twitch is an increasingly popular element of the gaming community, and we are keen to see more girls and women be a part of it. But how do you get started? What exactly do you stream about? And how do you find your audience and have a great time, while still keeping your online safety in mind?

Come along and hear from Hannah Kohlmann, a Twitch Partner and successful streamer to learn the basics of streaming and her best tips to attract and engage your audience. There will be plenty of time for Q&A so bring all your burning questions along!
