What is
#MissMakesCode?

#MissMakesCode is the first initiative in the world created to build confidence and self efficacy in the areas of algorithmic thinking, programming and coding for young girls aged 5-8 years.

We have run family workshops across Australia for women and girls learning coding together to ensure girls have a role model close to them to support their tech education.

Our educational curriculum comprises of a series of lesson plans and resources and is the only professional development solution for teachers/librarians that ensures the priorities of the Digital Technologies Australian Curriculum F-Year 2 (as adopted by each state) are comprehensively and explicitly delivered to primary teachers as an all in one engaging teaching and learning and assessment solution, across the nation.

Is #MissMakesCode
Teacher Training for me?

Our professional online courses are practical, empowering and engaging. We focus on explicit teaching of visible thinking skills, enabling girls to use a variety of computational methods to solve problems using programming principles.

The MissMakesCode courses were written and delivered by teachers, for teachers and aligned to the Australian Digital Technologies curriculum. On the completion of the teacher training courses you will be equipped with the resources you need to deliver this curriculum the very next day.

"My daughter Claire and myself, enjoyed the session a lot and it is definitely worth the 2 hour journey from Bendigo. For myself, it was beneficial to learn about coding for the first time and for Claire it was a great refresher of coding she had learnt a few years ago but forgotten. The added bonus was the time spent together working in the Pairing exercise. I gained real insight into how my daughter works in a small group and boy did we laugh!" - Julie Salt
