We are launching Girl Geek Academy with a party! Come and celebrate all things geeky with us. Girl Geek Academy is a place to learn, connect and inspire. From July 2014 all workshops, field trips and educational programs will be run through Girl Geek Academy. Girl Geek Dinners Melbourne will run dinner events. Look forward to seeing you at our big launch!

Tickets are $20 and profits will go towards providing scholarships that will be awarded by Girl Geek Academy. Girl Geeks will be able to apply for scholarships to attend workshops, attend technical conferences, buy software, buy technology gadgets and even buy new laptops and phones.


What will you be doing at your Meetup?

We will introduce Girl Geek Academy, hear from great guest speakers, learn something cool things, meet awesome women interested in technology and eat dinner together.

What will it be like?

A celebration of where we have come from and where we are headed! You don’t need to know anyone to attend. It will be lots of fun.

Will it be an activity? A discussion? A presentation?

There will be presentations and activities to learn something new and meet Girl Geeks.

What’s an interesting issue we’ll discuss?

We will be asking you what you want to learn! We will then plan our series of workshops and programs based on what you want.

No need, just bring yourself!

We want to see you there if you are a Girl, or a Geek or both! Girl Geek Academy is for hackers, hustlers and hipsters.

Are newcomers welcome?

Yes! We are new so we welcome everyone. The co-founders of Girl Geek Academy have previously created communities and we invite all existing members and newcomers… Girl Geek Dinners, She Hacks, Startup Weekend Melbourne Women, 3D Printing Prop Making and more.

How long will the Meetup be?

2 hours, from 6-8pm

Is it okay to arrive late?

It’s better if you arrive on time so that you don’t miss anything! If you are going to be late that’s ok, just walk in and grab a chair.

Where is this happening?

We will decide what kind of party based on the number of people attending! It might be an intimate dinner, or a larger event in a hall. We have a 100 person max capacity. We will decided 2 weeks before the event, how exciting!
